18-storey hotel, with a dramatic 3-storey
marble atrium has 300 rooms and suites,
each of which offers a panoramic view of
the Arabian Sea.
The décor is light and airy, a mix
of pale pastels and dark wood. Color schemes
are either based on peach or beige. The
rooms are beautifully appointed and particularly
designed to meet the needs of the business
traveler. Large desks are hand-made from
the finest hardwoods. A standard feature
in all rooms is the five fixture marble
bathroom, including a separate shower cubicle.
Other in-room amenities include DSL internet
connectivity, multi-line speaker phones
with international direct dialing facility,
data ports for laptops, modems, mini bar,
personal safe, color television with satellite
programs, AM/FM clock radio, 24-hour room
service and laundry service.
Taj Lands End's butler service is available
to all guests staying in Deluxe Rooms and
Executive Suites. The butlers offer each
guest a highly personalized service, including
packing and unpacking. Butler pantries are
located on all floors, ensuring prompt service.
Solo women guests are served by female butlers
only.

The
Atrium Lounge- This spacious and
relaxing lounge is open through the day
for light breakfast and snacks, pastries,
special coffees, cocktails and nightcaps.
Live instrumental music from 4 p.m. to midnight
sets the mood, while guests relax and soak
in the ambience. High Tea is a specialty
of The Atrium Lounge - and includes pastries
and savories along with a variety of teas.
Lands End Café- An upbeat,
24-hour café, overlooking the gardens,
serves an eclectic mix of local specialties
and international favorites. Breakfast and
lunch buffet, in addition to the ala carte
selection. Midnight buffet served from 11p.m.
to 2:30 a.m. (except Monday).
Emperor's court: Featuring
mainly Chinese cuisine from Shanghai and
other parts of China, this contemporary
style restaurant offers delicacies for even
the most discerning tastes. Relax and enjoy,
as the Dim-Sums will be plentiful.
Passage To India- Offers
a culinary journey through the influences
of Indian cooking, both ancient and modern,
in an ambience that is both elegant and
informal. The restaurant's open kitchen
adds a theatrical touch and allows guests
interact with the chefs. Open for dinner
from 7 p.m. to midnight, the restaurant
comes alive to the tune of live Indian music
each evening. Also open for lunch on Sundays
from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Ming Yang- The split-level
layout of this Chinese restaurant allows
diners to enjoy a view of the Arabian Sea
and the Portuguese Fort from anywhere in
the room. The right-angled zigzag of the
back wall imitates a Chinese screen, as
well as offers secluded bays for semi-private
dining. Specializing in Sichuan cuisine.
Open for lunch from 12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
and for dinner from 7.30 p.m. to midnight.
Tropic- The Poolside Bar:
Situated amidst the green lawns of the hotel,
Tropic is different with an exotic outdoors
setting and an picturesque view of the bay.
Serves a selection of Mediterranean and
Indian snacks, and cocktails. Open from
7:30 p.m. till 12:30 a.m.
Churchill's- is the ideal venue
for a pre or post dinner drink. The décor,
with its wood paneling, smoked-glass and
leather is modeled on the lines of a traditional
Englishman's club. Cognac, cigars and champagne
are Churchill's specialty. The Bar has an
adjoining Cigar Room offering a variety
of cigars for the connoisseur. Open from
12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight.
The Happy Hour is from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
with live music from 8 p.m. onwards. |
