- Day 1:
Arrival You arrive at Cochin international,
to be whisked away to historic Willingdon
island and our flagship hotel, Casino( 01
Hour). Sunset brings with it a boat cruise
of the Cochin Harbour.
- Day2 : In Cochin With Breakfast
behind you, take a stroll through the local
spice and fish markets. Join us mid afternoon
for an introduction to Indian and Keralan
cuisine, followed by a hands-on cooking demonstration
with an emphasis on seafood.
- Day 3: Cochin - Periyar(
05 hours) After breakfast we whisk you away
to the Spice Village resort. Lying in the
lap of the fabled Cardamom hills, Spice Village
is surrounded by lush forests, and the Periyar
Wilderness is but an hour away. Enjoy a late
afternoon boat safari on the Periyar lake.
Take in the herds of wild elephants, bison,
deer, and the spectacular bird-life. Return
to Spice Village for a live cooking demonstration
using fresh spices from the surrounding forests.
- DAY 04: Periyar The hotel
staff introduces you to the various spices
that flourish in the region, in their natural
habitat, while taking you on walking tour
of Spice Village. Our chef takes over, mid-afternoon,
with a hands-on lesson in cooking with spices.
So you can take home a few Keralan tips and
tricks.
- DAY 05: Periyar - Kumarakom
( 04 hours)You'll leave just after breakfast,
driving back down to the coast and the melodically
named town of Kumarakom on the banks of lake
Vembanad. Here, you hop on to a boat to Coconut
Lagoon, an eco-friendly resort created from
restored heritage homes, set in a web of canals
on the banks of the Kavanar river. Enjoy a
presentation we call 'Conquering the Coconut'.
Here, you'll witness the coconut being plucked,
de-husked, broken, grated and cooked.
Evening finds you on a sun-set cruise on the
lake, in a converted rice boat, adrift to
a flute accompaniment.
- DAY 06: Kumarakom A short
boat cruise takes you to 'Philip Kutty's Farm'
to see an extraordinary way of life, farming
and fishing. Spend the afternoon learning
the intricacies of Keralan seafood dishes.
- DAY 07 - 10 : Kumarakom
- Marari ( 40 minutes)After breakfast, the
boat takes you back across lake Vembanad to
Puthenangadi, from where a car/coach to Marari
Beach. Spend the day at leisure on the beach.
- DAY 11: Cochin - Airport
( 01 hour 30 minutes)It's time to bid farewell.
Drive to Airport and assist you with check-in
formalities.
